The Tilden Knit Sweater is a fantastic reproduction, equal parts refined and sporty, with an origin that touches on several beloved Ivy-League pastimes - from Cricket, to Golf, to Tennis, to pretending to be European aristocracy. The original style was very much a piece of sportswear, designed for and worn during recreation, having been knit up from wool to keep players comfortable during wet weather.
The Real McCoy's have made theirs with 100% cotton, using a 5-gauge slub yarn for maximum softness and comfort without getting too heavy or warm. It's still finished with a classic cable-knit, originally selected for durability, and features a simple v-neck collar and contrast stripe detailing, just like the originals.
The Tilden Sweater's history has lead to it being called both a "Cricket Jumper" and a "Tennis Sweater" with neither being really incorrect. Nowadays, it's less of a sport garment and more of an everyday knit, pairing exceptionally well with jeans, but dressing up just as easily. The fit is classic, true to size with slightly relaxed proportions throughout for a slouchy and relaxed fit.
